Who We Work With
We work with individuals and families who want a thoughtful guide - retirees and those preparing for retirement, individuals experiencing major life transitions, business owners, and professionals with retirement plans, stock options or employer equity. Our clients value working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and prefer to rely on professional advice rather than managing every financial detail themselves.
Understand Your Risk. Invest with Confidence.
Riskalyze helps translate complex investment risk into a clear, easy-to-understand score. This allows us to align your investment portfolio with your true comfort level and long-term financial goals.
“Many people wonder: Do I have enough to retire? How will I draw income without running out of money? Will my spouse and family be secure if something happens to me? These aren’t just financial questions - they’re life questions. And I’m here to help our clients navigate them with clarity and confidence.”

A Letter From Jacob Sturgill
My story - and the story of Sturgill Financial Partners - begins long before I became a financial advisor. I grew up watching my grandfather and father serve our community as CPAs for decades. Their work wasn’t just about numbers; it was about helping families make decisions they could feel good about. I saw the trust people placed in them and the responsibility that came with it. Those early experiences shaped how I view this profession and the way I serve clients today.
When I founded Sturgill Financial Partners, I wanted to carry those values forward. This firm is built on the simple belief that people deserve clarity, honest guidance, and a long-term partner they can rely on. The families who work with us invite us into some of the most meaningful parts of their lives, and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
If we have the opportunity to work together, my commitment is to walk alongside you - listening, guiding, and helping you navigate decisions with confidence, just as my family has done for generations.
Warm regards,
Jacob L. “Jake” Sturgill, CFP®

-
What makes Sturgill Financial Partners different from other financial firms?
Our firm is built on providing clarity and simplicity. As a lifelong member of the community, Jacob Sturgill brings a family legacy rooted in the local business environment and a commitment to honesty, hard work, and personal care. -
What does a “planning-first” approach mean?
A planning-first approach means your plan - not the markets - drives the decisions we make together. We start by understanding your goals, priorities, and challenges, then build a step-by-step strategy that adapts as your life evolves. Investments and tax strategies support the plan, rather than leading it.
-
What is a fiduciary and why does it matter?
CFP ® professionals are held to a fiduciary standard and are required to put your interests first in every recommendation. This standard guides how we operate, ensuring clarity, transparency, and advice centered on what benefits you - not what’s easiest or most profitable for a firm.
-
How does a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) assist with retirement?
